Kang-Chun Cheng

Kang-Chun Cheng is a Taiwanese American ecologist and photojournalist based in Nairobi, Kenya, focusing on community-based natural resource management and land-use and conservation issues. She uses photography as a tool for storytelling. She has herded reindeer in the Arctic, roasted lamb with pastoralists in the mountains of Xinjiang, hitchhiked through Tunisia, harvested honey with Indigenous communities in Kenya's north Laikipia, walked the Camino de Santiago, gone free-diving on the south Sinai peninsula, and swam beneath waterfalls in Cuba. She loves big landscapes and can be found climbing rocks whenever possible.
