Frank Fontes Baniwa (Hipattairi) is an artist of the Baniwa people, Waliperedakeenai clan. His watercolour paintings for the book Umbigo do Mundo expresses the modality of contemporary Indigenous art that has been recording actions and characters of traditionally oral narratives, full of sensitive intimacy with the forest and its beings.
